WHO WE ARE
Baran Consulting was born in Melbourne in 2009 when founder Kim McTighe set out to create an alternative for corporate businesses looking for a part-time senior tax manager. The aim was to create a superior service offering to corporate businesses with a highly skilled, cost effective alternative to the in-house tax management function. Today Baran Consulting is based in Brisbane and services a wide range of clients across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
There is little doubt among business owners that on-demand access to tax advisors is essential to the efficient functioning of a business. However, the issue that companies often face is that they do not require a full time senior tax resource, but do need personalised tax expertise and advice regarding all aspects of corporate, indirect and state taxes affecting their operations. Baran Consulting Corporate Tax Management fills this gap by tailoring support to meet the needs of each individual client, whether it be full outsourcing, co-sourcing or individual engagements.

Kim McTighe
Director
Kim has 15 years corporate and indirect tax experience across a range of industries in both public practice and in-house, including tourism, publishing, film distribution, IT & telecommunications, technology, oil and gas exploration industries.
Kim has a keen interest in tax consolidated groups, international tax, accounting for income taxes and navigating clients through ATO risk reviews/audits.
Kim is a Chartered Accountant, Registered Tax Agent, holds a B.Com, B.Bus.Mgt, and is an affiliate member of the Tax Institute.
Renée Bow
Tax Consultant
As our Tax Consultant, Renée’s focus areas include FBT, Corporate Income Tax Compliance, payroll tax, general compliance, and tax analysis and review.
Renée’s varied commercial experience in Commercial Law and HR brings a fresh perspective to our firm. She has strong business acumen, having worked with a multitude of professional and financial services organisations across a range of industries and departments. Her experience in problem solving, analysis, systems, and compliance are an advantage at Baran Consulting. Renée has degrees in Law & Business Management.
Fiona Glendinning
Systems Accountant
Fiona is a qualified CPA who holds Bachelor degrees in both Accounting and Computing. This complimentary blend of skills enables her to re-work complicated spreadsheets and create solutions which drive efficiency. Her passion is improving day to day jobs through her knowledge of technology.
Matt McTighe
Practice Manager
Matt joined the Baran Consulting team in 2020 having worked in various accounting firms for the past 15 years.
Matt loves being an office allrounder, supporting the accounting staff and maintaining the day to day operations of the business. He also loves being challenged and bringing a high level of service to clients.
